| Family suing over suicide |

NEW HAMPSHIRE - The Strafford County Department of Corrections is being sued for negligence after an inmate went missing from his cell for four hours in 2006 and was later found hanged in a supply closet. This is the second such suit against the county in almost six months. The suit was filed on April 1 in Strafford County Superior Court by the Estate of Michael Cox. Cox was incarcerated at the jail after members of his family placed him there following a domestic incident, according to the family's attorney, James E. Ritzo of Portsmouth.
