IOWA - New community corrections facilities with room for 150 or more criminals would be built in the Des Moines area under a plan by Gov. Chet Culver designed to free up prison space. A Des Moines city councilman said the proposal could meet resistance from neighbors, although no decisions have been made on where the additional convicts would live.
