CANADA - Nova Scotia's director of correctional services says he believes double bunking in single-bunk cells is a safe way to deal with overcrowding in the province's jails. Fred Honsberger told the legislature's public accounts committee that housing two offenders in the same cell is safe as long as they are screened and judged "compatible." Read more.
