| Crime victims’ advocates honored |

NEW YORK - Citizens joined local officials at an awards ceremony Thursday, honoring the service of Suzanne McLaughlin, chief operating officer/chief nursing officer at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers; Susie Balutis of the Dutchess County Office of Probation and Community Corrections; and Brianne Ptak, community volunteer, to celebrate Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This event, coinciding with public rallies, candlelight vigils, and other activities held across the nation, honored victims, their families, and those who serve them. “This year’s theme is ‘Justice for Victims. Justice for All’,” said Susan West, president of Family Services which operates the Crime Victims Program. “That means there will be no justice for any of us if we don’t seek greater fairness for victims of crime.
