Cause of recruit death unknown

RHODE ISLAND - State medical officials have not yet determined why a correctional officer recruit died during routine physical tests over the weekend. more stories like this The state medical examiner's office on Monday said it was continuing to investigate why Jamal Jackson, a recruit at the Donald Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, died.

The 30-year-old Jackson was participating in a standard series of tests Saturday, including push-ups, sit-ups and a one-and-a-half mile run. He complained to staff members after the run that he was feeling dizzy. Read more.
