CALIFORNIA - NorthBay Healthcare will receive almost $2 million as part of an agreement reached Friday with the California Department of Corrections related to care provided at VacaValley Hospital to inmates from two state prisons in Vacaville, according to the health system. The two sides have been negotiating since December 2007 with state Assemblywoman Lois Wolk, D-Davis, acting as mediator. As part of the agreement, NorthBay will receive $1.97 million immediately for inmate care documented since June 2006, as well as an unspecified amount for services not yet billed. Read more.
