| Family sought after inmate's death |

OREGON - The Oregon Department of Corrections is asking for the public's help in locating relatives of a convicted killer who died in his cell. Joseph Demattio, 56, collapsed about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in his cell at the Oregon State Penitentiary, said Matt Conens, communications manager for the Oregon Corrections Department. After staff members administered medical aid, Demattio was declared dead at the scene, apparently of natural causes, Conens said. Prison employees have been unable to locate family members of the inmate, who declined to list relatives to contact in case of an emergency, Conens said.
