| Group seeks to reduce returning parolees |

CALIFORNIA - Riverside County's downtown jail is named after him, so it may be surprising to hear former undersheriff Robert B. Presley pitch his latest plan. Presley wants to reduce the number of parolees who commit new crimes and get sent back to prison. Newly incorporated as The Presley Group, he and some other former law enforcement types want to work with Riverside Community College District to establish a Community Education and Employment Training Service Center in Riverside County. The center would provide services ranging from educational and vocational training to marital and anger-management counseling, said Presley, who spent four years as secretary of the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency and 20 years in the state Senate.
