| New Kane jail on time, budget |

ILLINOIS - The new Kane County jail will be full of corrections officers and inmates by the beginning of fall. Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez said on April 30 the project is on time and on budget, the same information that has been coming from the rest of county government for several months now. That means that beginning in July, the sheriff's office will start moving into its new office, and inmates will be in the new cells by Sept. 1. Perez held a press conference last Wednesday afternoon to talk about the jail project, although what sheriff's office personnel really wanted to talk about is the department's new Web site, which has been redesigned and provides a lot of new information -- including items about the new jail and sheriff's office.
