An inmate was taken to the hospital after being injured in a fight at Lackawanna County (Pa.) Prison Friday afternoon, officials said. Warden Paul L. Jennings declined to give the unidentified man's condition. Two federal inmates being housed at the prison began to fight about 1 p.m., Mr. Jennings said. The unit, which houses up to 60 prisoners, was locked down afterward. Prison officials also imposed sanctions on prisoners in that cell and began an internal investigation. "That in-house investigation will be turned over to the district attorney's office," he said. "We'll be taking in-house criminal action as well." |
