| Inmates sue over jail conditions |

ILLINOIS - Lake County Jail inmates are forced to spend weeks in overcrowded holding cells with too few toilets and "nearly nonexistent" medical care, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday. Three inmates and a former inmate sued Sheriff Roy Dominguez and jail officials in federal court in Hammond, contending they were not allowed out of the cells for exercise or permitted to visit family members while waiting to be processed into the jail.
