| U.K. sees rise in youth violent crime |

UNITED KINGDOM - Young boys and girls have committed almost 300,000 offences in the past three years, a huge leap that will cause concern for ministers as they prepare a youth crime action plan. According to annual figures published the Youth Justice Board yesterday, boys remain the biggest offenders overall. Violent offences by young men and women have also rose by 40 per cent to 56,000.
