| ‘Mock drill’ to test alternative court site |

LOUISIANA - A “mock drill” is set for 10 a.m. today at J. Levy Dabadie Correctional Center in Pineville to test computers and other systems needed to operate an alternative court site. The drill comes in advance of hurricane season and is designed to test readiness of courts to operate at other sites in the event of evacuations from South Louisiana. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Corrections Services, has partnered with the Orleans Criminal Court system on the drill. Dabadie Correctional Center Warden Keith Deville has set aside space at the facility to be converted to a temporary office for court participants if and when it becomes necessary to evacuate, according to a news release.
