2,400 up for parole next month

NEVADA - Nearly 2,400 inmates will be up for a parole hearing next month thanks to a bill the Legislature approved last year.

Supreme Court Justice Jim Hardesty (who chairs a commission studying the prison system) says 652 inmates now qualify for mandatory parole release consideration based on good time credits they collected in prison. Read more.
