| County told to make improvements |

INDIANA - Fountain County may be forced to make improvements to its jail, or risk being shut down by the state. The Indiana Department of Corrections sent a letter to Fountain County officials telling them they have six months to make several necessary improvements to its jail. The DOC listed 6 issues that the county must address, including a new roof and heating and cooling system. Ron Howard, Fountain County Council member, said the county is running out of time to make a decision. "I think its at the point in time where the state has about had it with Fountain County as far as this jail is concerned," said Howard. Read more.
