FLORIDA - They venture into places most people want to leave, and on Monday the volunteers of the Division of Corrections were honored for their dedication to improving the lives of county inmates. Hundreds gathered at the Ocean Center to recognize those who had reached milestones in service, as well as the volunteer of the year, Pedro Guzman of the Basilica of St. Paul. "Our job is to improve those inmates," Guzman said to the volunteers, who were mostly from area faith-based groups. "We don't try to convert anybody, we just try to teach them to love each other."
