INDIANA - The first New Castle Correctional Facility inmate to go to trial on charges related to last year's prison riot was convicted this week of two felonies. Arizona inmate Jimetha R. Goree, 31, was convicted of possession of device by an incarcerated person, a Class B felony, and rioting, a Class D felony. Goree will be sentenced on June 17 in Henry Circuit Court and faces six to 20 years in prison. He was among 28 inmates charged as a result of the riot. All but one of those inmates was being held in New Castle as part of an agreement with the Arizona Department of Corrections. Read more.
