| No database to spot probation violations |

INDIANA - A 27-year-old man charged in the death of a security guard over the weekend had admitted on at least one occasion to violating the terms of his placement in a Community Corrections program. But that information, contained in police reports, was apparently not forwarded to corrections officials.On April 19, Joshua Kati told a police officer at the scene of a traffic accident that he'd had a beer earlier in the day. Although Kati tested negative for alcohol in his blood, consumption of any amount of alcohol amounted to a violation of the rules of the corrections program in which he had been placed. Read more.
