N.J. officers keep jobs

NEW JERSEY - A spokesman for a corrections officers union says the workers who were on the job during a daring inmate escape from the Union County Jail in Elizabeth won't lose their positions.

Jim Roche is a spokesman for the Policemen's Benevolent Association Local 199. He told The Star-Ledger of Newark on Tuesday that the five corrections officers and supervisors will be suspended for six months, but won't be fired. Read more.
