Smoking ban going well

CANADA - The recently imposed smoking ban in correctional facilities has not created a problem in the Prince Albert area, according to a Correctional Service of Canada spokesperson.

“It’s been pretty quiet in our region. So far, so good,” noted Jeff Campbell.

On Monday, the last stage of the ban was enacted, meaning it is now fully extended to all correctional facilities in the province. Campbell said preparation for the ban was extensive. With some minor exceptions — “We’ve had a couple of reports of inmates that smoked their nicotine patches” — the ban has gone well, said Campbell. Read more.
