ST CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - Governor John deJongh, along with members of his Senior Staff and Attorney General Vincent F. Frazer toured the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility on St. Croix Sunday. The unannounced visit marked the first time in recent history that a USVI governor visited the prison at Golden Grove. “I decided to go to the facility to see first-hand the conditions so as to have a better understanding of the complaints and concerns of the Corrections officers, BOC staff and inmates,” deJongh said. The tour, led by Acting Warden Diane Prosper, took the governor through all areas of the prison: the detention area, several cell blocks, the jail’s medical facility, its kitchen, dining area and recreation facilities.
