Two inmates at the maximum security prison in Renous have been charged with first-degree murder. Anthony Jolin, 22, and Jonathan Hache, 21, are charged in connection with the death of inmate Kevin Whynder. "The investigation since day one has been moving forward," says Sgt. Wayne Jacquard of the Bathurst RCMP. "What happened is that a brief some weeks ago was presented to the crown prosecutor and after having reviewed the brief a decision was made to lay charges. The pair are to make their court appearance via video link on the 19th of April 2004 at the Bathurst provincial court." Whynder was killed in November of 2003 while he was serving time for first-degree murder at the institution. He was originally from Kentville, Nova Scotia. |
