| State executes first since challenge |

OKLAHOMA - An Oklahoma City man convicted of killing a university student from Japan by throwing a firebomb into his apartment complex was executed by the state Tuesday evening. Terry Lyn Short was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m., about seven minutes after the first of the drugs, sodium thiopental, started to flow. Short raised his head and acknowledged several family members but declined an opportunity to deliver his last words into a microphone that dangled over his head. Read more.
