| Corrections has its own games |

CANADA - While Canadian Olympians are getting prepared for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing later on this summer, the B.C. correctional facilities held a different kind of games here in Chilliwack on Friday. Employees from federal corrections facilities around the province came out to participate in the Pacific Regional Summer Games as a part of National Public Service week. Two-hundred and fifty participants were involved in one or several events such as golf at Cheam Golf Centre, whitewater rafting on the Chilliwack River, volleyball, softball and running at Townsend Park, swimming at the Leisure Centre, a bike ride from Abbotsford to Chilliwack, and horseback riding in Langley. The day culminated in the late afternoon at the Jolly Miller Pub for a thirst-quenching brew after a day of exercising in the sun. Read more.
