NEW ZEALAND - Wellington Prison is to be temporarily closed and its inmates moved to other jails. The Corrections Department announced the plan this afternoon, saying there was a "seasonal" dip in the prison population. "We routinely open and close units when the prison population fluctuates," Assistant Regional Manager Southern Liz Nielsen said.
