Community corrections offers employees

KANSAS - Employers in Salina have a new source for finding both entry-level and skilled laborers, if they are open-minded about giving workers with a criminal past a second chance. Actually there are advantages to hiring someone on probation, said Bob Butts, president and owner of Salina Iron & Metal Co., 312 N. Fifth. That advantage is having a supervision officer to call if the worker misses work for a day or two without cause, Butts said.
