| Agencies to receive grants for programs |

VIRGINIA - Agencies in the Northern Shenandoah Valley will receive nearly $1 million in grants to support criminal justice services and programs. Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced in a press release Wednesday the award of almost $40 million in grants to 16 state and 279 nonprofit agencies. The money goes to programs such as victim-witness, sexual assault, criminal justice system improvements, crime prevention, offender re-entry transitional services, school resource officers and campus safety, substance abuse, community corrections and juvenile delinquency.
