MAINE - A regularly scheduled meeting of the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees was held in Washington County on June 25. Among agenda items discussed, and voted on, was the approval of a new criminal justice degree program for York County Community College. YCCC will begin offering criminal justice courses in the fall 2008 semester. The Criminal Justice Associate Degree program focuses on the criminal justice system, its organizational components and processes and its legal and public policy contexts. The program includes instruction in criminal law and policy, police and correctional systems organization, the administration of justice and the judiciary, and public attitudes regarding criminal justice issues.
