OREGON - A top youth corrections official resigned Monday after being confronted about an alleged inappropriate romantic relationship with a subordinate. Brian Florip, an Oregon Youth Authority assistant director who supervised 11 youth prisons and work camps, spent 28 years with the agency. Florip also directly supervised Darrin Humphreys, a former youth warden who was indicted two weeks ago on 26 counts of theft, official misconduct and other charges. Florip's departure is not directly tied to Humphreys, according to Robert Jester, director of the youth authority. But Jester said an investigation into Humphreys and Florip turned up what he termed Florip's inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. Read more.
