Jail touts improvements with minors

WASHINGTON, DC - The District of Columbia says it has improved conditions for minors held at the D.C. Jail. The city was criticized a year ago for problems with the way juveniles in custody were treated.

According to a report being released Monday by the departments of Corrections and Youth Rehabilitation Services, an average of 27 minors are held at the jail every day. But despite the improvements, city leaders concede that the jail is ill-prepared to deal with minors. Read more.
