The U.S. Marshal Service says 3 inmates who made a daring escape from the Jackson County (Ala.) Jail Saturday night are back in custody. The three -- 34-year-old Shawn Garcia, 20-year-old Joshua Keith Dunn and 18-year-old Cody Lynn Morrow reportedly escaped through a utility closet and crawled through a ventilation duct to an outside second-floor wall. The three prisoners used sheets and a mattress to climb a razor-wire fence. U.S. Marshal Marty Keely said Garcia and Dunn were captured yesterday in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, near the Alabama line. Morrow was apprehended in Bridgeport. Garcia, who is awaiting sentencing on a federal bank robbery charge, was transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Dunn, who was jailed on various property-related crimes, is being held in a jail in Cleveland, Tennessee, awaiting extradition. Morrow was returned to the jail, located in Scottsboro. Keely also said federal marshals raided the home of a man they believe drove Garcia and Dunn to Tennessee. Columbus Farrell Lambert of Bridgeport also faces drug and weapon-related charges. |
