City may spend $1.5 million to lure headquarters

COLORADO - The City of Pueblo is making a big financial push to try and get the Department of Corrections to move its state headquarters from Colorado Springs to Pueblo. On Monday, Pueblo city council members unanimously voted to use up to $1.5 million in sales tax revenue to help pay for the move.

The decision to offer the D.O.C. an incentive came easy for city council member Ray Aguilera. "It's almost a no-brainer because that's a great thing for Pueblo to bring 90 or 100 people here who make big wages, big salaries that would be willing to move to Pueblo," said Aguilera. Read more.
