| CYA inmates charged with attacking counselors |

Two inmates at the California Youth Authority pleaded "not guilty" on Thursday to charges they attacked their counselors. Joseph Gaylor, 19, and Lionzo Villareal, 18, are charged with assaulting two counselors at the N.A. Chaderjian Youth Correctional Facility near Stockton. Officers say the attack occurred when the pair were being removed from their cell so maintenance work could be performed. The two counselors suffered minor injuries. Attorneys for Gaylor and Villareal are asking to see all videotape of the alleged attack in light of recent abuse by guards that has been caught on tape. |
