| New Sheriff's office opens |

ILLINOIS - The Kane County Sheriff’s Office opened Monday at its new location at Route 38 and Peck Road in St. Charles. Although many administrators, investigators and others already made the move earlier this month, this week marks the first time everyone is in the office’s new location. Some services, like fleet maintenance and the 911 center, remain at the former location on Fabyan Parkway in Geneva for an indefinite amount of time. The new office is connected to the new jail, which is expected to house inmates at some time next month. A grand opening ceremony is being planned for Aug. 1, but corrections officers continue to receive training in the new facility before inmates will arrive. Read more.
