MISSISSIPPI - A process that took several years to reach the point of awarding a construction bid for a new county jail will start over after officials chose to look at a different design. After delaying their decision twice in the past month, the Scott County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 on Monday to reject all bids received July 15, just 18 days before an August 28 deadline when the bids would have become invalid. The decision effectively means the county will have to start over in selecting an architect, deciding a design and advertising for bids. Read more.
