Hamilton Co. facility 40% complete

INDIANAPOLIS - Hamilton County’s three-story Community Corrections building on Cumberland Road in Noblesville is about 40 percent complete, said its director Ralph Watson. The $17.2-million complex will have 200 beds and more classrooms to provide substance abuse and general educational development programs for inmates.

Completion is on schedule for summer 2009. The facility houses inmates convicted of nonviolent felonies, who serve their sentences through work release and similar programs. The program is at its 75-inmate capacity and has a waiting list, Watson said. Offenders who are sentenced to the program must remain in the county jail until an opening becomes available. Read more.
