MISSISSIPPI - The Mississippi Department of Corrections says an inmate who failed to return to the George County Community Work Center following an emergency leave is back in custody. The agency said Fredrick Jones, 39, had been given the 24-hour leave to attend a funeral. He was captured in Gulfport and authorities said he now faces a felony escape charge and could receive an additional five years in prison if convicted. Read more.
