NEW JERSEY - A letter purportedly sent from a prisoner calling himself "Freak Malik" that threatened the lives of [officers] at Trenton state prison is in the hands of investigators seeking to ferret out its true author and to determine the validity of its menacing contents. The note, issued as a warning to the media, was received last week by The Trentonian, and a copy has been sent to the state Department of Corrections and the union representing its correctional officers.
