| Eighteen Vets. pass from transition program |

ILLINOIS - The Illinois Department of Corrections says 18 prisoners who've served in the military have graduated from a program designed to ease their reintegration into society. The newest graduates of the Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program were recognized during ceremonies Thursday at the Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln. Since its launch in 2005, more than 980 veterans have participated in the program, which includes education seminars and employment workshops. The program is a collaboration between Department of Corrections, the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the Federal Department of Labor.
