NEW YORK - Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr., announced that Oneida County has developed the first comprehensive jail-to-jobs program designed to connect young adults who have been involved with the justice system with jobs that can help them lead productive, crime-free lives. The expanded Second Chance program combines a number of efforts developed by the regional Working Solutions One-Stop Career Center system in partnership with a wide range of partners.

"Young adults who have made a mistake in their lives have many productive years ahead of them," Picente said. "The goal of the Second Chance Project is to help young people who have one strike against them get the education, training, and support services they need to find a job, keep that job, and stay out of jail."
