| COs to protest bracelet rule |

NEW YORK - Corrections officers at Auburn Correctional Facility will gather outside the prison Friday afternoon to protest a decision by administrators there prohibiting officers from wearing bracelets supporting cancer research. The bracelets are not part of the approved dress for corrections officers, according to Al Mothershed of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, the union that represents the corrections officers. "They threatened to lock a couple of guys out if they didn't take off the bracelets," he said. Officers will gather in protest between 1 and 4:30 p.m. |
