OHIO - Hamilton County is paying between $300,000 and $400,000 a year for an abandoned eyesore here. That wasn't what the county intended when it acquired the land for a steal last year. Hamilton County planned to use the Sara Lee Food and Beverage Co. as the site of a new jail. The jail plan failed when voters rejected a tax increase to pay for it. Now the cash-strapped county, along with Cincinnati and its Camp Washington neighborhood, are trying to decide what to do with the 16-acre property on Spring Grove Avenue. Read more.
