| Plea in prison tobacco smuggling case |

WISCONSIN - A former state Department of Corrections employee charged with delivering tobacco and rolling papers to an inmate at Fox Lake Correctional Institution struck a plea deal with prosecutors. Carol J. Fiestedt, 68, of Neenah, was granted a two-year deferred prosecution agreement Tuesday during a plea and sentencing Dodge County Circuit Court hearing. Fiestedt pleaded no contest to amended charges of obstruction and disorderly conduct. A felony charge of bail-jumping was dismissed. The Dodge County Sheriff's Department was alerted Jan. 24 after officers discovered an inmate with tobacco and rolling papers. Fiestedt told authorities the inmate asked her to bring it. Read more.
