| Nine county officers promoted |

NEW JERSEY - Nine Atlantic County corrections officers received promotions Sept. 4 during a ceremony at the Atlantic County Library branch. As spouses, children and parents looked on, seven of the officers took their oaths from Sean Thomas, the county's director of adult detention. Thomas commended the officers for their professionalism and expressed his gratitude for the officers' day-to-day efforts. "There's the physical rigors of dealing with an inmate population and putting up with me. I'm quite demanding," Thomas said. "It can all take a toll on them. Every one of these men has the skills, the knowledge and pride to help me and Atlantic County achieve the objectives that we want to achieve." Read more.
