Board ponders sex offender rule

MINNESOTA - It might be unconstitutional, ineffective and unenforceable, but the Selectboard is expected to move forward on a proposed sexual offender ordinance anyway. The board, at tonight's meeting, is expected to give a final reading of an ordinance that would limit where sex offenders could live in Rockingham.

The proposed ordinance is based on similar ordinances that have already been adopted in Rutland and Barre. If the Rockingham board approves the ordinance tonight, the public will still have 60 days to ask for a vote before it goes into effect. Read more.
