INDIANA - An eight-year battle over employee discipline at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City ended quietly Monday. Jurors assembled at the Laporte County Courthouse Monday morning, where the civil lawsuit was scheduled to go to trial. At the last minute, the parties reached a settlement. Indiana's Department of Corrections agreed to pay former employee Michael Tessman $50,000, and former employee Robert Decker $60,000. Read more.
