| Jail officials answer to DOJ |

NEW MEXICO - In June, the Department of Justice released some startling statistics showing Torrance County Jail ranked the highest in the nation for sexual victimization. On Tuesday, jail administrators answered to a panel in Washington, D.C., about the findings. The national average of sexual assault in jails is about 3 percent. In Torrance County the DOJ said it’s more than 13 percent and the department said it wants to know why. Torrance County Sheriff Clarence Gibson said the news was hard to swallow. Read more. Well, I'm impressed at that percentage rate! Especially after reading The Pocono Record's article(s) about sexual assaults, etc. at the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Stroudsburg, PA. Yes, they have fired the staff involved in this scandal, but is that where this ends? I for one, think not! Left behind, are several CO's who are even more rotted-out than the one's in this awful scandal-unbelievable!?
