| Grand jury clears personnel in suicide |

NEBRASKA - A grand jury has determined that Hall County corrections personnel weren't at fault in the suicide of a county jail inmate. Jeffrey Todd Hansen, 42, of Grand Island, died at St. Francis Medical Center on Aug. 25 after being taken there from jail the previous evening. Because he was in custody when he died, state law required a grand jury be convened and a special prosecutor be named. The grand jury met this week. According to a report filed in Hall County District Court, the grand jury found there was no criminal conduct on the part of any individual that caused or contributed to Hansen's death. Read more.
