| Automated med system saves time |

CALIFORNIA - A new system designed to ensure safe and accurate delivery of prescriptions to inmates was unveiled Thursday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. The automated system is the first of its kind in the country, county officials said. It is called Project ADAPT, or Automated Dispensing of Accurate Prescription Therapy, and initial costs for the system has been $3.8 million, said Terry Fillman, West Valley Detention Center medical supervisor. "We're the first to use what we would term the remote dispensing model," Fillman said. "It's exciting, a lot of departments came together to make this happen." Read more.
