WISCONSIN - A state Department of Corrections investigaton has found prison officials did not violate work rules when they let 22 inmates with alcohol and drug problems hear a motivational speaker at a bar. The New Richmond Rotary Club gave free tickets to the event. Officials from two other prisons investigated, after drug counselor Mark Nelson said it was wrong to let inmates go any place where alcohol is served. The inmates said they enjoyed the speech, but some would have had an alcohol relapse had officers not been there. Read more.
